Rate My Fish - Giant freshwater stingray estimated 130-140kg and newborn.

Giant freshwater stingray caught from the Ban Pakong by the fishsiam team.The team was accompanied by Dr.Zeb Hogan (mega fishes project) and Stefan Lovgren Nat Geo news writer on an expedition to gather footage and scientific data concerning Giant freshwater stingray.The pictured fish was estimated to weigh 130-140kg and gave birth to a live newborn whilst being handled in the margins.The fish were returned back to the river after a short examination by Dr.Hogan and photography.I believe this to be the only documented Giant freshwater stingray birth ever witnessed in the fishs wild and natural enviroment and is a good sign for such an understudied and obscure species.We will be continuing our efforts on the Ban Pakong River in the coming months in search of more prehistoric predators.
